Can anyone tell me if there is a campsite in Youlgreave in the Peak
District, a couple of weeks ago while visiting the area I thought I had
notice a small poster saying campsite but other than that no information,
mind we had visited a few villages that day. We where thinking of going back
on a camping trip but after doing some searching cant find a thing on it, we
where looking for info on showers toilets prices that sort of thing.

Thanks,

Last time I checked - which was a few years back - the CC club have a campsite in Youlgreave open to
anyone, but there were no facilities provided at all, in particular no toilets...

club have a campsite in Youlgreave
Hopping Farm ? may be worth a call certainly.

The nearest campsite that I can recall is at Haddon Grove
Farm.

Thanks for this but I had come across the Hopping Farm site when searching
but its not the one (I don't think), the poster was in the village its self
at about Grid Ref SK 21125 64517, might just be a local farm site not sure.

I have been on it many years ago and it is far from a local farm site.
Despite *not* having a toilet and shower block it is a classic high quality
Camping and Caravanning Club site, with *100* pitches The Web page gives
the Grid reference as SK 2060 6320 so you must have found the wrong one.
Look at the web page carefully, or better join CCC and get the Big Sites
Book with over 4000 places to camp in the UK.

I think it is signposted by the river on Mawstone Lane, it is visible
walking down the Lime Stone Way over Harthill Moor, it might be Lower

If you leave Youlgreave down the side of the church, thats Mawstone
Lane. Cross the river and where the road forks left follow the track
that goes straight on. Should be a sign up here for "The Camping and
Caravanning Club site". That lane runs into Hopping Farm. The CCC site
is on your left and has no facilities. There are two rows of static
caravans on your right that belong to Hopping Farm. Tucked in behind
them, in a small paddock is a touring site for caravans and they will
take tents. See http://local.live.com to view. This also belongs to
Hopping Farm and has good showers and toilets.
Found an address on the web :-
Hopping Farm Caravan Park
Mawstone Lane,
Youlgreave,
Bakewell,
Derbyshire,
DE45 1NA
Tel: 01629 636302 or 636822
Seem to think it is a Mrs Frost but cannot be sure.

The folks who own Youlgreave Post Office will know as they are members
of the "CCC"
Youlgrave Post Office
Fountain Square
Youlgrave
Bakewell
Derbyshire
DE45 1UR

Hope this helps?
